While in previous games it felt like you were alone but had the knowledge of support being on the way, this time you are truly alone as humanity fights for survival and the remains of the UNSC are being hunted down. While there is a ton of familiarity here, there's also a lot of new stuff to do, as the video is quick to point out that while you may be in familiar territory, there are things you need to learn since you've been gone.
